St Vincent de Paul

- Our Lady of Kapiti Conference

Thank you for your support over the last year. Without your prayer, financial support and contributions of food and furniture, we could not have achieved the work we have since July 2013.

With your help over the past year, St Vincent de Paul – Our Lady of Kapiti Conference has:

Delivered 644 food parcels and bakery items to families/whanau and individuals in need from Paekakariki to Waikanae. With the support of the wider Parish, provided uniforms and stationery to 35 children and young people in need in Kapiti. Visited and supported 1,055 people and whanau/families within Kapiti.
Provided financial assistance and furniture to over 100 families/ whanau and individuals
Provided fruit, bread and lunches to over 500 State Primary School students in our district each week.

We work:
To alleviate poverty
With care and dignity to help whanau/families reach self-sufficiency
Without judgment, support people through advocacy, working with other community groups and providing assistance.

We continue to need your support:
Through prayer
Through donated food – basic food items
Through financial donations.

St Vincent de Paul - Our Lady of Kapiti Conference is a group of 20 volunteers working to alleviate poverty by supporting families/whanau to self-sufficiency in the wider Kapiti area. If you have an interest in sharing in our work, please contact Des Horan, President #904 8086.

Our key aims for 2014/2015:
Reach a more diverse group of people ‘in need’
Challenge concepts of poverty and inequality
Work to address social justice
Unite in Christ, with you all
Recruit more volunteers
Further enhance the spiritual lives of our members.
